Exploring the Forgotten TGI Fridays on Hagley Road: A Slice of Abandoned Nostalgia

Nestled on Hagley Road, the once-bustling TGI Fridays now sits in eerie abandonment, a stark reminder of the vibrant energy it once offered. What was once a lively spot for American-style dining, cocktails, and endless conversations has been overtaken by the quiet decay of time. As we step inside, the familiar red and white colour scheme is still visible under layers of grime, and remnants of the restaurant’s iconic decor—neon lights, booths, and bar stools—are scattered across the rooms. The scent of the past lingers in the air, but the hum of customers and the clinking of glasses are long gone. Exploring the empty space, we uncover the forgotten corners of this popular chain, now left to rot. From the abandoned kitchen to the decaying dining area, every inch of the space tells the story of a once-thriving establishment, now lost to history. This exploration invites us to reflect on how time moves on, leaving empty shells of places we once knew so well.

Wet ‘n’ Wild Water Park | Explore This Half Demolished Water Park With Us

Looks like we were late to the party on this explore, but there was plenty left behind for us to see!

It turns out we chose the right time to leave, as when we got off the property the police shortly showed up. We just waited it out near by to make sure they left, they were still looking for 20 mins.

The history of Wet ‘n’ Wild in North Shields, Tyne and Wear, England includes its opening, ownership, and closure: Opening: Diane Youdale (Jet) opened Wet ‘n’ Wild on July 19, 1993 as the UK’s largest indoor water park. It was located in the Royal Quays complex and featured slides, rapids, and a wave machine.

Ownership: Serco Leisure bought Wet ‘n’ Wild in 2014 after it had been struggling financially for years. They spent £1.1 million on a makeover. Closure: Wet ‘n’ Wild closed permanently in 2020 and went into administration. Demolition: Demolition of the abandoned park began on November 8, 2024.

Footage of the demolition shows the building cut in half, with rubble on the ground and chopped up tubes. Future: It’s not known if Wet ‘n’ Wild will reopen as a water park.
