Opened in 1989 in a former Methodist church, The Que Club rapidly became the centre of Birmingham’s club culture, with nights such as Atomic Jam, Flashback, House Of God, Logical Progression and The Bubble Club. Carl Cox, David Holmes, Grooverider, Paul Oakenfold, Underworld, Massive Attack, Pete Tong and Andrew Weatherall all played here, and Daft Punk’s first live album, Alive 1997, was recorded at the venue.

The Que Club closed permanently in 2017 and the Grade II-listed building where it was located is now vacant. In The Que was create to preserve the cultural importance of the club and the nights it hosted, and was funded in part by a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
