Step inside one of Wolverhampton’s forgotten educational landmarks as we explore the abandoned **City of Wolverhampton College’s Paget Road campus**, along with the hidden climbing centre tucked away at the rear of the site.
Originally opened in **1962 as Wulfrun College**, the campus became a major centre for further education, serving generations of students across Wolverhampton. Following the merger with Bilston Community College in 1999, it became part of the newly formed Wolverhampton College before adopting the **City of Wolverhampton College** name after Wolverhampton was granted city status in 2000. For more than 60 years, thousands of students passed through its classrooms, workshops and training facilities before teaching finally moved to the new City Learning Quarter campus, leaving Paget Road silent for the first time in decades.
Hidden behind the main campus sits an abandoned climbing centre, once used to help students develop confidence, teamwork and outdoor skills. Now left to nature, the climbing walls, equipment and empty spaces offer a fascinating glimpse into a forgotten part of the college that many people never even knew existed.
