Constructed in 1954 and became abandoned in the early 2000s.
The bunker could produce its own power, using diesel engines and generating sets, and had its own store of water. Never used for its intended purpose, in 1956 the space provided temporary shelter to refugees who had fled the Hungarian Uprising.
The mansion and surrounding land, including the bunker, was sold by Sandwell Metropolitan Council, for the West Midlands Fire and Civil Defence Authority, in 1990. The council made it a rather insane condition of the sale that, if nuclear war had not broken out by 2003, the bunker was to be demolished. It’s still there.
After bumping into the new land owners on arrival, we found out that this place is soon to become a church built up on community donation. We will be pushing a link for donations for them once we get given more information. Its nice to see that a building is going to get reused again.
So as you can imagen this was a weird one having permission to go and explore this former chemical factory in Milton Keynes. So thanks to the new land owners on us knowing we haven’t got to keep an eye out for a security dog or police we could just chill and explore the factory left behind.

The site has planning permission granted under 2021/06275/PA for the demolition of the existing structures and the creation of 50 apartments, a ground floor retail unit and associated parking.

We explored this abandoned 17th century pub, which local residents are try to get re opened. And un like most places we explore, this one hadn’t been trashed we Evan gave it a tidy up 🤣🤣.

After a revisit to the abandoned courts, police and fire station were came across these tunnels that were 3 levels lower than the building and had stairs going Evan lower. After leaving an abandoned underground night club on Tuesday we stumbled across this abandoned crop in Digbeth. This isn’t the only one we have came across in Digbeth either the place is full of them, but to our surprise this one was kind of fresh.
From the looks of this place the police must have raided as all the tents had been sliced and all the wiring had been cut, but to our surprise there was still cuttings lights blackout curtains and more like they were ready to get the brand new tent, that has now been sliced, up and running!

(BRUMZ UPDATES BLEED CONTROL KIT INFORMATION) 2024 BLEED CONTROL KIT APPEAL ❤️ After a massive success last year I’ve decided to help the Daniel Baird Foundation again to continue ‘with your help’ to get more of these life saving bits of equipment out there across Birmingham in 2024 – Last year from around April time until November we managed to get 34 bleed control kits all registered and given out to different venues across Birmingham from pubs/clubs, community hubs, taxi ranks, and local businesses 👏👏👏👏 (another one still to go out either next week or first week in January) I thought about setting the 2024 target at 40/50 kits but even if we get just one every month out there thats 12 extra kits that could save 12 lives if ever a kit is needed ❤️
As for all collections/appeals that I do every single penny sent will be mentioned in the comments below including all receipts etc (I will pin this post at the top of the page) each kit costs £85 but after tax and p&p they work out to £110. As for making a donation towards the 2024 appeal just drop me a message saying ‘KIT’ and I’ll send you the details…. Apart from the DBF the followers of Brumz Updates got more bleed control kits out across Birmingham in 2023 than anyone else 👏👏👏👏👏 in fact you guys might of put more kits out there in 2023 than any other group/org in the UK (let me check on that one) Right then……..let’s smash it again in 2024 👊🏻👊🏽👊🏿
